The City of Chandler Public Works & Utilities Department is seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a Public Works Financial Services Supervisor. This is a regular, full-time position with benefits. The position is scheduled to work Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm for the first 6 months, then will have the option to work a flexible schedule.

Who we are
The Public Works Division is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's capital projects, streets and traffic operations. The Public Works team oversees the planning, design, installation, maintenance and operation of all signs, pavement marking's, traffic signals, intelligent transportation systems and roadway lighting for all City Streets. This includes 225 traffic signals, 800 traffic cameras, 28,500 streetlights, 22,000 regulatory and warning signs and 275 miles of roadway striping. Maintenance of over 2,090 lane miles of streets and 130 miles of alley's requiring asphalt patching, repair and replacement of curbs and gutters, sidewalk repair, debris removal and maintenance of landscaping in the City's right of ways. We also oversee the acquisition of professional services, design, construction and construction management for transportation, utilities, community services and other general government improvements.

Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone to perform a variety of complex professional duties, including planning, developing, and implementing administrative systems, programs, policies, and procedures for assigned divisions; serving as a project manager for key operational and/or administrative special projects and programs; and supervising staff. The primary role is a leadership position focused on implementing appropriate processes and practices for the assigned divisions. This position oversees Capital Project and Operations budgets and grant management. It also coordinates and manages services such as contract tracking, procurement processes, accounts payable, resource management, and compliance. This is accomplished by conducting independent research, establishing division goals, developing, coordinating, and analyzing the operating and capital improvement budgets, and developing and managing key programs and projects. Additionally, this position supervises the administrative operations of the Streets & Traffic Divisions, which may include professional, para-professional, technical, and/or administrative employees.

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field; and
• 5 years' experience in municipal accounting, finance, budgeting and/or project/program management or related experience; and
• 2 years of supervisory experience; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• Experience with managing grants;

• Previous experience in process control systems;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other database query & reporting applications;
• Experience in developing, creating, and analyzing complex technical documentation and programming.

This is a regular full-time position, subject to a six (6) month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for four (4) months should another position become available.
