Aviation Department - Facilities Custodial Division Location: 1 Kansas City Blvd
Pay: $18.37-$28.01 per hour
Schedule: Shifts based on operational needs, Mandatory Overtime may be required

Responsibilities

What you'll do - Inspect buildings floor-by-floor and by assigned areas to ensure custodial and cleaning standards are consistently met in public spaces such as baggage claim, kiosks, and seating areas
- Maintain clean, safe, and professional environments by sweeping, mopping, waxing, polishing floors, and servicing carpets and hard surfaces
- Empty trash and recycling and transport materials to compactors to keep facilities clean and compliant
- Remove debris from sidewalks, vestibules, bus shelters, and smoking areas to ensure safe pedestrian access
- Operate custodial equipment including floor scrubbers, sweepers, polishers, and tile and grout cleaners to maintain high-traffic areas
- Oversee and assist with deep-cleaning activities such as carpet extraction, wall washing, stainless steel and glass cleaning, and furniture dusting
- Perform snow removal activities to keep walkways and entrances safe during inclement weather
- Maintain restroom cleanliness by sanitizing fixtures, addressing minor plumbing issues, replenishing supplies, and completing daily inspection logs

Qualifications

REQUIRES - Six (6) months of experience in custodial care and limited general maintenance of buildings
- Ability to pass a physical examination as prescribed by the City
- Ability to pass a background check as prescribed by the City
- May be required to possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Missouri
- Must be available for duty on scheduled shift.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum, and perform physical laboring tasks that include but not limited to: frequent climbing, standing, stooping, reaching, twisting, bending, kneeling, squatting, hand grasping, and driving.
- Must have valid Driver's License
- Must Pass 10 year TSA Background Check

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained. Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
