Annual Salaries : Occupational Therapist I: $86,372 - $110,214
Occupational Therapist II: $91,312 - $116,532

Occupational Therapist III: $107,146 - $136,734

The Fresno County Department of Public Health invites applications for the position of Occupational Therapist I/II/III. Incumbents are responsible for planning and performing occupational therapy for neurologically and physically impaired clients at California Children's Services Medical Therapy Unit sites, which are located in local public schools. Incumbents are primarily responsible for providing rehabilitative therapy to clients who are physical or neurologically disabled by illness, injury, or genetic impairment. Incumbents may assist clients by developing or improving physical skills; restoring muscle function; maintaining maximum performance within the client's capabilities; and improving the level of Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

Occupational Therapist I

License : Possession of a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Occupational Therapy.

Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

Occupational Therapist II

Experience : One (1) year of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that gained as an Occupational Therapist with the County of Fresno.

License : Possession of a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Occupational Therapy.

Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

Occupational Therapist III

Experience : Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience equivalent to that gained as an Occupational Therapist with the County of Fresno.

License : Possession of a valid license as an Occupational Therapist issued by the State of California, Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Occupational Therapy.

Possession of a valid Class "C" driver's license, or equivalent.

SELECTION PROCESS:

Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur. Should a recruitment be open on a continuous basis, eligibles shall be certified in the order they are received not to exceed the maximum certification the department is entitled to.

Positions in this classification are in Medical Group III - Heavy Physical Activity (Personnel Rule 8). This group includes positions which require heavy physical effort using arms, legs, back and trunk in frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing (or offering resistance equivalent to) over 25 pounds. Generally, considerable bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, as well as standing and walking are involved.
