Position Description
The department is active in both basic science and clinical research, and our medical school was recently ranked #1 nationally among graduates as "The best place to learn". Surgical education is a core mission of the department, and the acute care surgery section will include general surgery residents and medical students in addition to advanced practice providers. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions

Diagnose diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
Discuss treatment options and procedures with patient and family members.
Perform surgery, including minimally invasive procedures, such as thyroidectomies, adrenalectomies and pancreatic tumor resections.
Manage hormone-related conditions.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Participate in the medical education and bedside training of medical students, residents and fellows.

Occasional Duties

Required Qualifications

MD/DO/MBBS/MBBCh.
Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
Completion of, or in the process of completing a Surgery Residency.
Completion of, or in the process of completing an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship.
ABMS Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
