Position DescriptionThe department is active in both basic science and clinical research, and our medical school was recently ranked #1 nationally among graduates as "The best place to learn". Surgical education is a core mission of the department, and the acute care surgery section will include general surgery residents and medical students in addition to advanced practice providers. Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions- Diagnose diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.
- Discuss treatment options and procedures with patient and family members.
- Perform surgery, including minimally invasive procedures, such as thyroidectomies, adrenalectomies and pancreatic tumor resections.
- Manage hormone-related conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in the medical education and bedside training of medical students, residents and fellows.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- MD/DO/MBBS/MBBCh.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing a Surgery Residency.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing an Endocrine Surgery Fellowship.
- ABMS Board certified or board eligible in General Surgery.
