ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Building Department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Assistant Manager Building Permits position. This position oversees operations that support some of the most complex and high-profile development projects in the nation. In this role, you will guide a team responsible for permit intake, plan review coordination, issuance, and fee assessment while ensuring compliance with building codes, County ordinances, and regulatory standards. As part of the leadership team, you will drive efficiency, elevate customer service, and develop staff in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. This role will directly influence the safety, quality, and progress of construction across the region. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of building codes and permitting processes, along with proven experience leading Building Department teams.

The Clark County Building Department located at 4701 W. Russell Road, Las Vegas NV, 89118,is dedicated to providing construction and development customers with state-of-the-art permit management, plan review and inspections services for residential and commercial construction. The Building Department is responsible for ensuring public safety through the effective enforcement of development and construction standards which include issuance of permits, plan reviews, inspection services for conformity to the State of Nevada and the adopted Model Codes. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration or a field related to the work AND five (5) years of demonstrated full-time experience in a permit environment which has involved dealing with the public and the explanation of complex policies and procedures, including two (2) years in a supervisory role. Experience in coordinating complex information systems activities is desirable. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
