Albemarle County is seeking an experienced full-time HR Generalist to support the County's HR day-to-day operations. This role will handle a range of HR functions including, but not limited to, employee relations, leave management, recruitment, and employee experience. The HR Generalist serves as a central point of contact representing a portfolio of County government departments.

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist performs professional duties in support of an effective human resources program. This position advises departments on HR functions including, but not limited to recruitment/selection, onboarding, performance management, benefit offerings, employee relations, regulatory requirements, FMLA & ADA administration, and pay changes. Work is performed under the general supervision of the HR Operations Manager.

Remote Work:

This position is eligible for a hybrid remote work in compliance with personnel policy P-24 Remote Work and Alternate Schedules. All County staff must maintain residence within the Commonwealth of Virginia, however it is the expectation that employees in this role will able to work onsite for a minimum of two (2) days per week in office to ensure appropriate coverage. Please note that additional in-office days may occasionally be required based on business needs.

The Salary Range:

The hiring range for this position is approx. $78,627.00 - $86,903.00 per year. Starting offer is based on applicable education beyond minimum requirements and internal equity. The position also provides excellent benefits including 12 paid holidays, paid vacation and sick leave, health insurance options with employer contribution, employer-paid life insurance, VRS retirement, and continuing education/training opportunities. This is a full time, FLSA exempt position. Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with Local Government Personnel Policy, §P-60.
