Description
Position OverviewThe City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Fitness Equipment Technician (Part-Time) in the Department of Parks and Recreation. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs preventive maintenance and repairs of fitness equipment; performs related duties as required.
Special Note: - This is a part-time, PERS eligible position.
- This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits (other than PERS)
- Work schedule will consist of an average of 29 hours/week. The work days will be Monday - Thursday.
- Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school or the equivalent
- One (1) year of experience maintaining, servicing, and repairing fitness equipment, preferably in a recreation facility or health club or setting
- Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
- Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Must complete and maintain Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and as a condition of continued employment
- All required licenses and certifications, as mandated by state and federal laws, or as required by the City, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and may be at the incumbent's expense
