SOCIAL SERVICES DIVISION
The Health and Human Services Agency’s Social Services Division strives to improve the quality of life for the residents of El Dorado County. They help residents meet basic needs and ultimately become self-sufficient by offering the following services: CalFresh, CalWORKs, Medi-Cal, General Assistance, and employment services.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Perform data entry, process changes, and operates automated systems or specialized software programs (such as MEDS, C-IV, CalHEERS CWS/CMS, CMIPS, etc.); perform complex program support functions; perform a variety of specialized duties in support of professional and technical staff.

Ideal Candidate Statemen t
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional who can manage user access, troubleshoot system issues, and provide clear guidance to staff using statewide automated systems. They excel at interpreting regulations, reviewing change requests, and recommending system updates or workarounds when needed. Experience with MEDS is strongly preferred, particularly in supporting eligibility staff and resolving complex case issues.

They communicate effectively, participate in meetings to share progress and resolve concerns, and stay current on system procedures to keep staff informed through bulletins, updates, and training. They are comfortable gathering and analyzing data, identifying trends, and recommending improvements that support program goals.

This candidate collaborates well with internal teams, Subject Matter Experts, and external partners, representing the County in discussions related to system functionality and enhancements.

Human Resources will assess your application to determine if you are minimally qualified using the following recommendations :
Any combination of the required experience, education, and training that would provide the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.
Three (3) years of full-time experience performing financial or statistical recordkeeping, or producing a variety of work products using a statewide automated system or software applications;

OR

Successful completion of thirty (30) college semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units from an accredited college or university; and

Two (2) years of full-time experience performing financial or statistical recordkeeping, or producing a variety of work products using a statewide automated system or software applications.

The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for System Support Assistant. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months. In accordance with Personnel Rules 1103.1 and 1105.1, an extra help or limited term employee may be transitioned into a regular employee if the department in which the employee works has a vacant allocated position for the same classification as held by the extra help or limited term employee and the appointing authority requests such transfer.
