LOCATION: FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT, BUDGET AND FINANCE SECTION, REVENUE COLLECTION GROUP, JOINT ADMINISTRATION OFFICE, WHITTIER

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and energized by a fast-paced environment? The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts protects public health and the environment through innovative wastewater and solid waste management — and the Revenue Collection group plays a critical role in sustaining that mission by ensuring the Districts' revenue programs run smoothly and accurately. As a Secretary in this group, you'll serve as central point for the team — logging and routing payments across multiple revenue programs, managing correspondence and document systems, coordinating supply orders, supporting timekeeping, and providing direct administrative support to the Revenue Collection Supervisor. You'll work with a variety of administrative and operatoinal sytems while gaining in-depth exposure to the Districts' surcharge and service charge operations, building knowledge that opens the door to advancement into senior administrative and specialized revenue roles. This is a position where your ability to stay organized, communicate clearly, and learn quickly will have a direct impact on a hardworking team that keeps the financial engine of the Districts running.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To perform secretarial work involving the organization, coordination and facilitation of the Revenue Collection group's administrative and technical projects; to accomplish clerical tasks involving office systems and procedures; and to compile data and prepare reports utilizing advanced word processing and related software.

Under the immediate supervision of the Revenue Collection Supervisor, the incumbent:



This job may be filled at either level: SECRETARY I is the first-working level class in which incumbents learn a variety of office systems and procedures. SECRETARY II is the journey level class in which incumbents accomplish a wide variety of office processes with proficiency and independence.

RETIREMENT





COMPENSATION

Employees receive annual salary increases until reaching step 5 of the salary range and are provided with opportunities to promote. Cost of living adjustments are implemented annually in accordance with labor agreements.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT
Employees may be eligible for tuition reimbursement for approved accredited course work.

STUDENT LOAN PAYMENT REIMBURSEMENT
For some bargaining units, the Districts will provide student loan payment reimbursements for principal or interest paid by the employee on a qualified education loan incurred by the employee for the education of the employee. The annual maximum reimbursement is $5,250 and the lifetime reimbursement limit is $21,000.
