Purpose:

Under minimal direction, oversees and administers the daily operations and activities of corporate and enterprise Information Technology (IT) operation work groups. Participates in business case and proposal development to ensure integration between the project effort and other functional areas. Participates in strategic and long-term planning of corporate- and enterprise-level information systems and objectives.

Under general direction, this position manages the daily operations, staff, contractors, and vendor resources supporting Austin Energy’s End User Platforms team and Horizon Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) team. This includes leadership over enterprise productivity services, Microsoft 365 administration, endpoint management and compliance, application deployment, collaboration technologies, and the Horizon VDI environment.

The IT Manager participates in long term strategic planning, ensures services align with City and department policies, supports cross departmental initiatives, and ensures consistent delivery of high-quality customer service for both office and field personnel. Responsibilities include operational oversight, budget management, hiring and supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and regulatory standards.

Salary:

$104,300.00 - $134,000.00 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Travel:
If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
