Administrative Support III
Description
Overview Provide administrative support to the Property Crimes Unit by conducting case research, contacting crime victims to obtain theft reports, evidence, and statements in order to file a misdemeanor case. Assists the Property Crime Unit sworn Detectives by filing misdemeanor shoplifting, criminal tress pass, and criminal mischief cases with the District Attorney's Office.
Responsibilities • Contact victims of property crimes to obtain theft reports/videos in order to file misdemeanor cases for shoplifting
• Contact victims of criminal mischief to obtain information such as repair estimates and photos to file the case with the District Attorney's office
• Prepare supplemental reports to document findings of investigation
• Research Criminal Trespass Warning and Authority Notices for various locations as related to Criminal Trespass misdemeanor cases
• Research property owner information to be included in the case file
• Prepare supplemental reports to document findings of investigation
• Assist with Pawn Shop detail operations to include investigating MRE's (metal recycling entity) through Leads Online Assist the Criminal Investigations Receptionist as needed
• Provide miscellaneous clerical support to the Property Crimes unit as needed
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Non Exempt - Full-Time
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Qualifications • Associate's Degree (AA/AS); or two year technical certificate
• Two (2) Years of Experience
Licenses and Certifications • NCIC/TCIC within six (6) months of hire
Required • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
