LAWA would like to fill 1 Chief Airports Engineer II position. This position has the primary responsibility for ensuring accuracy of numerous types of engineering records and reports and taking ownership of assigned projects.

This position is sensitive in regard to contact with the public, various officials outside the department, department managers, contractors, consultants and other LAWA divisions. In this position one may have to contact others frequently to expedite projects including emergency work.

* This position is authorized to be filled at the Chief Airports Engineer II level, based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.

*Registration as a Civil Engineer with the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologist is required prior to interview.

* For qualifying experience gained outside the City of Los Angeles, "professional engineering experience" applies to positions that require possession of a Professional Engineering (P.E.) License in order to obtain that position. Therefore, to be considered "professional," non-City experience must be gained in positions after obtaining a P.E. license.

*Eligibility is limited to, Civil Engineer, Senior Civil Engineer, Airport Engineer, Senior Airport Engineer, Project Manager Ill and all that meet the requirements of the last Chief Airports Engineer job bulletin currently on Personnel's website, link listed below for reference:
