The Jerry H. Hodge School of Pharmacy operates across four campuses-Amarillo, Abilene, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Lubbock-and is nationally recognized for its practice-based education and interprofessional training. We were selected by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy as the 2024 Lawrence C. Weaver Transformative Community Service Award Winner. Faculty in the Adult Medicine Division are active at local, state, and national levels and benefit from a collegial, collaborative environment.
New faculty members receive strong mentorship and institutional support for teaching, research, and scholarship, including access to biostatistical and methodological resources. The School fosters professional development and provides a structured orientation to help new faculty succeed in academia.
Major/Essential FunctionsThe successful candidate will contribute to a wide range of teaching activities, including:
- Didactic, laboratory, case/simulation-based.
- Experiential instruction within our innovative Pharm.D. curriculum.
- Clinical practice responsibilities (approximately 50% time) will focus on adult acute care, including both patient care and experiential teaching at the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center and the Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in North Texas.
This is a 12-month appointment. The faculty member will practice part-time, providing
- Inpatient oncology and adult medicine clinical services.
- Teaching and clinical responsibilities.
- Engage in scholarship and service consistent with departmental and school goals.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
- Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency and PGY2 Oncology residency or equivalent experience.
- Eligibility for Texas pharmacist licensure.
