Position DescriptionThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences' mission is to excel in the areas of patient care, physician education, and clinical research. We accomplish this mission with a variety of fellowship trained subspecialties unmatched in our region working with optometrist, comprehensive ophthalmologist as well as clinical researchers.
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences provides informed and compassionate care for a variety of vision and eye conditions, including adult and pediatric retina, glaucoma, cataracts, cornea, neuro-ophthalmology, pediatric ophthalmology, external eye diseases, and emergency services.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.

Major/Essential Functions- Diagnose and treat complex vision problems originating from the nervous system.
- Evaluate, diagnose and manage both outpatient and inpatient cases, collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.
- Interpret advanced neuro-imaging, perform optic nerve evaluations and targeted surgical procedures.
- Prepare and complete timely and accurate documentation for medical records.
- Participate in the training and education of learners including medical students and residents.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- MD/DO or Equivalent.
- Completion of an Ophthalmology Residency.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, Neurology specific training.
- Board Certification, Board Eligibility, or in the process of completing training to become Board Eligible, by the American Board of Ophthalmology or the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
