Position DescriptionThe TTUHSC Department of Psychiatry is dedicated to the TTUHSC mission to enrich the lives of others by educating students to become collaborative health care professionals, providing excellent patient care, and advancing knowledge through innovative research. TTUHSC School of Medicine is a community based medical school in that we collaborate with community hospitals as training sites instead of owning our own. This allows us to provide a varied training experience for our residents and medical students and for faculty to fulfill their unique interests in the practice and science of psychiatry.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents.
- Diagnose and treat a range of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral or emotional issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate in department call coverage.
- Conduct educational activities and/or research related to mental health.
- Provide supervision, mentoring and teaching to residents and students.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- MD/DO or equivalent.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, a residency in psychiatry.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, a fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry.
- ABMS Board Eligibility, or in the process of completing training to become board eligible, in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
