CSEA Range 19 ; Full-time/Non-Exempt; 40 hours per week; 12 months per year

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

The mission of the Custodial Services Department is to provide innovative approaches and outstanding customer service while delivering a clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a cost-efficient manner. The department also prepares and maintains campus facilities for athletic and various approved special events. The custodial staff is responsible for cleaning the buildings at all Butte College's campuses.

This position is responsible for the inventory and delivery of the custodial supplies including washing and delivering towels; assisting with the storage and disposal of District archives and surplus inventory; coordinating the delivery of Disable Student Programs and Services (DSPS) chairs to classrooms; installing and assembling furniture; setup and tear down equipment for events; and utilizing a computerized maintenance management system to create, complete, and close work orders.

The person in this position will also operate heavy equipment to perform various tasks including but not limited to an aerial lift, forklift, backhoe, and other equipment and tools including a weed eater, edger, leaf blower, miscellaneous hand and power tools, and more.

The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over the summer, the schedule changes to Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (see CSEA 15.11 for shift differential compensation). The work schedule may vary dependent upon District need and may include work on weekends, holidays (CSEA 8.7.4), and on-call shifts (CSEA 15.13).
