Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) - Revenue Audit Section is seeking motivated and talented professionals to join our dynamic team as an Auditor I through a transfer opportunity. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct compliance, financial, and operational audits in accordance with professional auditing standards.

• Review accounting records, contracts, lease agreements, and financial reports of airport tenants to verify revenue. Perform audit testing, analyze data, prepare workpapers, and draft audit reports.

• Evaluate internal controls, assess operational effectiveness, and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Communicate audit findings and recommendations with auditees and management.

PREVIOUS REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One year of full-time paid professional experience in government, enterprise, commercial, or financial accounting or auditing in a class at the level of Accountant; and Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with either : A major in accounting; or Satisfactory completion of at least 24 semester or 36 quarter units in the following courses: Principles of Accounting I and II (full year introductory course); Intermediate Accounting I and II (full year course); Cost Accounting; or Auditing; and either Governmental Accounting I and II, Tax Accounting, or upper-level data processing (full year course).

Emergency Appointment

An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
