Contra Costa Risk Management Department is seeking one (1) Administrative Aide to join our General Services Program Division. Under general supervision, the Administrative Aide provides specialized technical, clerical, and administrative support to the County’s Risk Management Department, working in close coordination with County departments, external insurance brokers, and carriers. The position assists with contractual insurance compliance and self-insurance program renewals. The Administrative Aide reports directly to the Risk Manager - General Services.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Successful completion of at least 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college or university which included one (1) class in each of the following areas: English Composition; Business or Public Administration, Political Science or Government; Mathematics or Statistics; and Psychology or Behavioral Sciences.

Substitution: Full-time (or the equivalent of full-time) experience in an administrative or staff capacity performing administrative, personnel or budgetary analysis which included the research, analysis and preparation of written reports and recommendations may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years.

Selection Process

Application Filing and Evaluation: Applicants will be required to complete a supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

Administrative Analyst Core Multiple Choice Assessment: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in the Administrative Analyst Core Multiple Choice Assessment. The multiple-choice assessment will be administered via a web-based platform. The multiple-choice assessment will measure candidates' competencies as they relate to Administrative Aide. These may include but are not limited to: analyzing & interpreting data, critical thinking, fact-finding, mathematical facility, reading comprehension, attention to detail, and writing. (Weight 100%)

Final Selection Interviews: Will be scheduled by the department once the eligible list is established.

If you applied for another recruitment that uses this exam and the test is scheduled within 6 months of the date you took the test, you will not have the option to re-take the exam.

TENTATIVE DATES:
The Administrative Analyst Core Multiple Choice Assessment is tentatively scheduled to take place via computer (remotely) September 30 - October 5, 2026.

The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY

After you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). DISASTER SERVICE WORKER

All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
