A Quality Control Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Utility, Centralized Water Laboratory. This is a full-time position that supports the laboratory's mission of providing accurate, responsive and cost-effective analytical and technical services to all areas of the community.

The Quality Control Specialist coordinates and monitors the city's laboratory or cities contract laboratory quality assurance activities for water, wastewater, pretreatment and environmental testing. Ensures compliance with all regulatory aspects of the Quality Assurance plan; and monitors, investigates and evaluates water quality programs, processes, and concerns.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing and balancing.

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
