The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) is the second-largest municipal health system in the nation. Requirements

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:
A Doctorate degree* from an accredited college or university with specialization in a field of psychology followed byfive (5) years' professional experience in the application of psychological techniques**, two (2) years' of which must have included experience in developing, implementing and supervising a psychological program.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Additional points will be awarded for additional experience in developing, implementing and supervising a psychological program in excess of the Selection Requirements.
LICENSE:
A License to practice as a Psychologist issued by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Psychology.

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

All required licenses and certifications must be active and unrestricted or your application will not be accepted.

PHYSICAL CLASS II - Light:
Light physical effort which may include occasional light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting. Considerable walking may be involved.

**Psychological techniques are defined as: methods used in the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral, personality, and mental disorders.

EXAMINATION CONTENT:

This examination will consist of an evaluation of education, experience and desirable qualifications weighted at 100%.

CANDIDATES MUST ACHIEVE A PASSING SCORE OF 70% OR HIGHER ON THE EXAMINATION IN ORDER TO BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBLE REGISTER.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:
Applications will be processed on an "as-received" basis and those receiving a passing score will be promulgated to the eligible register accordingly.

The names of candidates receiving a passing score on the examination will be placed on the eligible register in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.

NO PERSON MAY COMPETE IN THIS EXAMINATION MORE THAN ONCE EVERY TWELVE (12) MONTHS.

Appointees may be required to work any shift, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
