INSTRUMENT AND CONTROLS TECHNICIAN

MONTHLY SALARY: $8,714 - $10,592

THIS RECRUITMENT IS TO FILL ONE FULL-TIME VACANCY IN THE PUBLIC UTILITIES DEPARTMENT AND TO ESTABLISH AN ELIGIBILITY LIST TO BE USED FOR FUTURE VACANCIES.

SUMMARY: Under general supervision, maintains, investigates, and performs repairs to all City-owned electrical substations, in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulations and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Guidelines:
High school diploma or equivalent; AND three years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and performance of preventive maintenance on digital and analog control system and plant instrumentation.

Knowledge of: Skill in:
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A valid class C California State Driver’s License is required. Forklift/SkyTrak operation certification within 6 months from hire date.
ISA (International Society of Automation) CCST Level 1 certification (Certified Control System Technician) must be obtained within twelve months from hire date.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work in an industrial facility such as a power plant requires certain physical abilities to minimize risk and fatigue, employees must demonstrate minimum level of ability to:
