We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team in a Plans & Permits role. Based on qualifications, this vacancy may be filled as either a Plans & Permits Specialist or a Plans & Permits Technician.

Position Options:

Plans & Permits Specialist
Requirements: Associate’s Degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience. Equivalent education and experience are accepted. Hiring Range: $23.20 - $28.42 per hour (Market Range: $23.20 - $33.63 per hour). Permits Technician
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience in the construction industry and/or customer service. Equivalent education and experience are accepted. Hiring Range: $22.48 - $26.49 per hour (Market Range: $22.48 - $30.51 per hour)

Essential Functions:


NOTES: The work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:15pm with flexibility to work 8:15am - 5:15pm. The work schedule may change.

About Our Team

The Plans & Permit Specialist will provide support to the Onsite Water Protection Division. This division currently sits in Wake County Environmental Services department but will be transitioning to a reporting structure under the Wake County Health and Human Services Department.

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30am- 5:15pm with flexibility to work 8:15 am - 5:15 pm. The work schedule may change

Hiring Range: 23.20 - 28.42

Market Range: 23.20 - 33.63

Emergency Service Worker Statement
