What You'll Be Doing

Looking to make a positive impact in the lives of our Youth and Families! Wake County invites you to join us as a 4-H Youth Development Administrative Manager where you can make a difference.

This is an opportunity to champion positive youth development in our community. Assess needs, research, develop, implement strategies and collaborate with a variety of community stakeholders.

Apply your knowledge and experience in positive youth development, out of school programs, family systems and prevention. Use your expertise in data collection, analysis and reporting to illustrate relevant needs, barriers, recommendations and progress.

Essential Functions:

• Work closely with youth development professionals, youth serving agencies and local governments, community-based organizations and faith-based groups
• Research and report out on needs, trends and best practices in positive youth development and other disciplines
• Assemble teams and support existing teams in the implementation of programs or practices in underserved areas or with vulnerable populations and coordinate specific youth development strategies within the identified high needs areas
• Assist a team to provide and coordinate positive youth development training for staff, volunteers and community-based youth development professionals
• Serve in multiple leadership, interdisciplinary, program and community teams
• Maintain a high level of skills related to data management and reporting that involves communicating information to multiple stakeholders (citizens, staff, volunteers, community partners and funders)

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of youth, families and our broader community. In this role you will assist with strategic planning, data collection and analysis, reporting and presentations related to out of school time initiatives and positive youth development work to attain priority outcomes for unserved and underserved families as well as a universal school age population throughout Wake County.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

• Bachelor's degree
• Three years of job-related experience
• Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)

• Experience working directly with diverse community stakeholders
• Practical knowledge and experience in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and strategies within a Youth Development, Human Services, Education or a related field
• Experience with data collection, focus groups, analysis and reporting
• Experience in communications, presentations, facilitating meetings and workshops or work sessions
• Valid Driver's License and "safe" driving record

How Will We Know You're 'The One'?

• Knowledge and experience with out of school time systems, integrating service elements and addressing related barriers that families, organizations or communities face
• Knowledge and experience with data collection, analysis and reporting to various stakeholders, funders, agencies
• Knowledge and experience with the principles of positive youth development, family systems and the effects of trauma on children and family systems, prevention fundamentals
• Ability to develop effective collaboratives with diverse internal and external partners and stakeholders
• Ability to survey community members and stakeholders, analyze results and present findings and recommendations in reports and presentations
• Ability to implement programs and events for youth and families
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse community partners and staff
• Expertise and skills in working with minimal on-site supervision while maintaining productive relationships, clear communication and regular coordination with team members
• Knowledge and experience with out of school time services

Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 8:30am - 5:15pm

Hiring Range: 66,270 - 89,467, commensurate on experience

Market Range: 66,270.00 - 112,663.00

Emergency Service Worker Statement

Employee may also be required to participate in relevant exercises and regular preparedness training.
