We are looking for a dedicated person to serve in a highly responsible executive clerical position involving complex work methods in one of the largest judicial circuits within the Missouri State Court System.

Work involves serving as assistant to the Court Administrator of the 13 th Circuit. Supervision is received through personal conferences, general observation of work in progress and the review of completed work. An employee of this class performs responsible duties requiring discretion and judgment in making working decisions and has a higher level of delegated administrative responsibility and serves as liaison between Court Administrator and other court offices, organizations and other agencies. An employee of this class assists in planning to ensure efficiency of operations of office administrative functions including working with and tracking confidential matters for compliance with established policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities:



Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic. Knowledge of court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws, and legal factors pertaining to the court. Knowledge of organization operations, functions, and scope of authority of the court or activity to which assigned. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to make moderately complex decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and departmental policies and procedures. Ability to maintain administrative and general records and to prepare reports and answer questions from records. Ability to perform difficult office management assignments. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Skill in the operation of modern office equipment.

*At the discretion of the appointing authority, a county paid circuit court employee who is hired into a state paid circuit court position may be paid the salary currently paid by the county or the salary the employee would have been paid had they been originally hired as a state employee, whichever is less. At the discretion of the appointing authority, a state employee transferring to the circuit court from another state agency may be paid at a salary in the appropriate pay range that is equivalent to their current salary, provided the salary does not exceed the salary paid to current circuit court employees in equivalent job classes who have equivalent years of service. The employee’s current job class, pay range, and salary paid by the other state agency shall be certified in writing by an appropriate administrative authority from that state agency.
