Salary Range: $48,995.50 to $81,661.42 annually

General Description and Classification Standards

This individual will work under the direction of the EMS Chief and Medical Director and is essential to the Department’s EMS quality assurance and improvement initiatives. The Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement (QA/QI) Officer will work closely with the EMS Chief and Medical Director to maintain a robust quality assurance and improvement program for all EMS activities in the Department.

This individual will be expected to operate with a reasonable degree if independence demonstrate good judgment and work ethic in the performance of their duties. The QA/QI Officer will also work with field personnel to improve the delivery of Emergency Services by improving the accuracy and efficiency of the department’s interrelated systems, processes and procedures, as well as monitoring metrics which represent the quality of care delivered and the reporting mechanisms for the delivery of care.

This position requires the ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating cases, determining necessary educational initiatives and communicating with crews as well as a working knowledge of existing laws, regulation of policies/protocols.
