Supervises the work of lower-level Refrigeration Mechanics or other maintenance staff involved in the operation/maintenance/repair of large and complex refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems; makes work assignments; and inspects work in progress or upon completion for proper equipment operation
Instructs skilled/semi-skilled workers in the proper operation, preventive maintenance, and repair of large and complex refrigeration and air conditioning equipment; assists contracting companies in the installation of large equipment and systems; determines work methods upon receiving work orders and proceeds without technical supervision; work is subject to review for compliance with directions or with plans and specifications.
Sets up a preventive maintenance schedule for equipment; inspects/adjusts/calibrates/maintains/ repairs complex refrigeration equipment and air conditioning systems including central air conditioning and handling systems/circulating pumps/cooling towers/walk-in coolers/refrigerators/ice makers; orders replacement parts and equipment; maintains work records
Advises superiors on the purchase/replacement/major overhaul of large and complex refrigeration and air conditioning equipment and systems; estimates costs of installation and/or repair; prepares sketches and does layout work; performs other related work as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Four or more years of experience in a trade area.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:Experience in refrigeration and air conditioning is preferred, but not required.
All requested documents MUST be received by the closing date listed. Some positions are eligible for a shift differential of $173.34 semi-monthly, which is provided to employees with shifts that begin on or between 12:00pm (noon) and 5:00am, and who work at a 24/7 worksite (i.e. institution, transition center, supervision center, or command center), or whose work requires regular visits to these locations. If selected for interview, eligibility may be discussed at that time with the hiring manager.
