Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Primary Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (up to 19 hours per week)
Position Description: This position supports the Sexual Health and Harm Reduction Service (SHHRS) through CDC-supported duties, specifically aligned with the goals of the PS24-0047 PrEP Supplemental grant. The role includes coordinating activities outlined in the grant narrative and workplan, primarily focused on expanding Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) initiatives across Oklahoma. Core responsibilities include leading the PrEP/PEP Task Force, developing a state-wide PrEP access plan, coordinating partnerships with PrEP and PEP providers, and supporting educational efforts aimed at increasing provider knowledge on prescribing PrEP. Additionally, the position will oversee contract management related to PrEP/PEP services, including PrEP navigators, ensuring compliance with deliverables, conducting site visits, and reviewing programmatic reports.
The key objectives of the PrEP Supplemental grant are to:
Increase PrEP access and uptake among populations disproportionately impacted by HIV, such as Black and Latino gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM), and Black cisgender and transgender women. Address structural and social barriers to equitable PrEP access. Expand awareness of and access to HIV non-occupational PEP and doxycycline PEP (doxy-PEP), targeting healthcare providers, community-based organizations (CBOs), and individuals at risk for HIV.
Duties:Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee contracts related to HIV PrEP and PEP services, including transportation, PrEP navigation, and media campaigns. This includes conducting routine site visits and risk assessments, in collaboration with SHHRS contracting and purchasing managers.
- Serve as the Oklahoma PrEP/PEP Coordinator, maintaining and updating the state’s PrEP/PEP access plan.
- Provide technical assistance to contracted sites to ensure compliance with program requirements and best practices.
- Collaborate with the Prevention Programs Manager to implement HIV prevention interventions across the state.
- Develop and distribute educational materials that are culturally appropriate and aimed at both providers and at-risk populations.
- Provide technical assistance to healthcare providers to increase the uptake of HIV PrEP and PEP best practices.
- Assist in the development, review, and editing of materials related to HIV PrEP, HIV testing, and treatment, ensuring they are culturally relevant.
- Foster collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, clinics, and other stakeholders to enhance the quality of HIV care and prevention services.
- Actively cultivate partnerships with other initiatives focused on HIV testing, treatment, and PrEP expansion.
- Develop strategies to help providers adopt changes in HIV PrEP and PEP-related practices.
- Organize and present at conferences and training sessions for healthcare providers on HIV prevention and treatment.
- Ensure that all public health detailing related to HIV testing, treatment, and PrEP is current and accurate, including topics such as PrEP basics, prescribing protocols, patient navigation, and universal opt-out HIV testing.
- Coordinate material orders, deliveries, and logistics related to PrEP and PEP services.
Other Duties- Demonstrates knowledge of and supports mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
- Works effectively in team environment, participating and assisting their peers.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in public health, biological sciences, health sciences, social sciences, psychology, or a closely related field.
Valued Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Strong experience in HIV and STI prevention and treatment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HIV prevention, PrEP, PEP, and other STIs.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:Work is typically performed in an office setting with controlled climate conditions and moderate noise levels. This role involves extended periods of sitting, as well as frequent use of computers and phones. Some travel may be required for site visits, training, and community engagement activities.
Telework: This position is Hybrid and is subject to OSDH policy and supervisor’s discretion. May be eligible for hybrid schedule following probationary period.
