The Division of Finance and Administrative Services is seeking applications for an Intermediate Accountant in the Payroll/Accounts Payable Unit in Cole County .Job Posting Number: 4040 8680015
Semi-Monthly Salary: $2,408.00
Annual Salary: $57,791.97
Job Location: This position is located at the 3418 Knipp Drive, Jefferson City, MO.

What you’ll do:
- Administer Labor Distribution Profile (LDPR) in SAM II HR; creating, modifying and determining appropriate distribution for charging pay work events.
- Prepare semi-monthly DSS payroll expenditure reports and payroll appropriation estimates.
- Receive and research requests from Divisions for payroll Journal Vouchers to enter into SAM II HR.
- Respond to inquiries from Divisional Fiscal Liaisons/Human Resources/Upper Management for payroll expenditure information.
- Provide backup to the Assistance Payment Unit to process and approve payments in SAM II Financial.
- Perform professional accounting responsibilities related to the interpretation, processing, approval, and presentation of invoices for goods and services billed to the Department of Social Services; investigates discrepancies in the documentation provided; recommends and takes appropriate corrective action within established guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience and/or appropriate certification. (Substitutions may be allowed.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to details.
- Knowledge of SAM II HR and SAM II Financial.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and office methods and practices.
- Ability to make mathematical calculations.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to review financial documents for accuracy with attention to details.
- Ability to maintain automated and manual financial records.
- Knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions.
- Ability to identify and resolve transactional issues.
- Regular and reliable attendance REQUIRED as this position deals with highly time sensitive information.
