We are looking for qualified and passionate individuals to help us in the mission of addressing issues like housing, mental health, and substance use. The Department of Justice Care and Opportunities is seeking qualified candidates to fill an emergency Senior Application Developer vacancy related to the homelessness crisis.

Under the emergency order, applicants who meet the requirements may be hired for an initial period of up to 90 days, with an opportunity for permanent County employment.

Before the end of your initial work period, you will be assessed on your work performance. This assessment will be weighted 100%.

Those who successfully pass the assessment will be considered for permanent appointment to Senior Application Developer.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The Justice, Care and Opportunities Department is looking for an experienced Microsoft Power Platform / Dynamics 365 developer to join our Information Technology Services division. You will know how to harness the latest technologies by developing low-code platforms and creating user-friendly solutions. We’re looking for an experienced solution engineer like you to support the management of low-code development platforms while translating complex functional and technical requirements into custom design and development of Microsoft Power Platform-based applications. You will create engaging customer experiences using low-code development technologies that leverage the modern experience in Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, SharePoint Online, and Power BI. You'll serve as the technical lead in developing plans, estimations, and code and design reviews. You’ll work on projects that meet challenges in care for justice-involved individuals and their communities; focusing on prevention, diversion, and reentry to achieve community safety, wellbeing, and equitable justice. You will collaborate with your team to build automated business processes within Dynamics and apply your expertise to ensure accessibility for all users by developing a front end that functions across browsers, platforms, and devices while meeting accessibility and security requirements.

Option I: Graduation from an accredited* college or university with a bachelor's degree** in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field - AND - three (3) years of recent, full-time, paid experience coding, testing, and debugging applications programs.

Option II: One (1) year of experience at the level of Los Angeles County class of Application Developer II***.

Option III: Four (4) years of recent****, full-time, paid experience coding, testing and debugging application programs.

*Accredited institutions are those listed in the publications of regional, national, or international accrediting agencies, which are accepted by the Department of Human Resources (DHR). Publications such as American Universities and Colleges and International Handbook of Universities are acceptable references. Also acceptable, if appropriate, are degrees that have been evaluated and deemed to be equivalent to degrees from United States accredited institutions by an academic credential evaluation agency recognized by The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or the Association of International Credential Evaluators. Inc.

**In order to receive credit for a Bachelor's Degree or higher degree, you MUST attach a legible copy of your "official" diploma, "official" transcripts, or "official" letter from an accredited institution which shows the area of specialization at the time of filing (preferred), or within seven (7) calendar days from application submission. License:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

Physical Class:
Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

Before the end of your initial work assignment, the appointing department will evaluate your performance. Those who achieve a passing score on this evaluation will be considered for permanent appointment.
