Job Summary Performs skilled work in the operation of complex construction/maintenance equipment (see attachment C). An employee in this class is responsible for performing tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained. WASTEWATER - VACTOR TRUCK: Performs tasks of more than average difficulty involving the safe operation and routine maintenance of assigned equipment. The employee will perform semiskilled work in maintenance of the wastewater collection system and serve as a lead in the operation of the Vactor truck and/or Tanker Truck. Tasks at times are performed under hazardous conditions and employees are expected to be particularly alert and careful. Under general supervision, employees are required to exercise initiative and independent judgment in completing assigned tasks and work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion by observation and through results obtained. Time to time the employee with be required to assists the CCTV crew cleaning sewer mains lines in preparation for inspections, also the employee will be required to assist on sewer backups, wastewater overflows. Lastly, the employee maybe required to work at night and will be required to work in adverse weather conditions. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, write and follow instructions, plus two (2) years experience in the operation of assigned equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Florida Commercial Driver's License Class A, B, or C required prior to employment depending on equipment assigned to position. Some positions may require a tanker endorsement permit prior to employment. Some positions may be required to pass an annual respirator physical; no facial hair allowed between the face and sealing surface of the respirator. Positions in Streets & Drainage Division require Aquatic, Right of Way, and restricted Pesticide License within twelve (12) months of employment depending on area of assignment. Positions in the Wastewater Division require a GOAA Secure Area Access I. D. badge within ninety (90) days of hire. Definition: Complex, large equipment that normally requires formal and/or extensive training averaging three (3) months. Equipment is normally transported or operated on public roadways sometimes requiring a small crew. The consequence of errors can be major in terms of cost or repairs and damage to both public and private property and equipment. There is a chance of major injury to other employees and citizens. If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;

- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
Salary:
USD 19.14 - 24.40 per hour
