Pay Range: $97,751 - 127,076 annually
Job Posting Closing on: Thursday, January 30, 2025 Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm; some evening/weekend work required. Hybrid on-site work model available with supervisory approval; staff required to be on-site at least 2 days per week.

The IT Solutions department is seeking a Project Manager to join the Project Management Office. IT Solutions services over 23 City departments and is comprised of over 7 divisions that handle all facets of IT technology that, include applications (ERP, GIS, CAD, RMS), infrastructure, audio-visual, security, desktop hardware, helpdesk, finance, data center operations, and radio services. The IT Solutions Project Management Office Team receives over 100 new IT Project requests a year and manages them from concept to deployment - ranging from cloud-hosted solutions to enterprise-wide on-premise solutions. We are constantly bringing new technology to the City to streamline business processes, improve government transparency, and make services more readily available to our citizens.
The IT Solutions Project Manager oversees multiple small and large-scale technology projects, the budget, associated technical resources, and vendor services. They are expected to manage projects through weekly Stakeholder status updates, draft project plans, perform requirements gathering, compile project artifacts, and reconcile financials for projects; providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers while collaborating to deliver technology-driven projects and enhance City business processes.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or a related field;
- Five (5) years of professional experience;
- With Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in the management of project teams and the use of project management tools
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details)
Preferred Qualifications: - Proven success using organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with Project Management tools such as PPM PRO, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Monday, Trello, etc., and process mapping tools such as Visio
- Specific training or management of technology projects involving software implementation, endpoint devices, network infrastructure, security cameras, and audio-visual projects that involve understanding the equipment such as desktops, laptops, MDCs, switches, access points, servers, cradle points, AV and digital signage at a high level while working with technical resources to ensure our customer’s technology needs are met
- Demonstrated proficiency in working with customers to understand their business needs and transform these into technology requirements via requirement gathering sessions, creating requirement matrices, the scope of work (SOW), executed contracts, and implementations.
- At least one (1) professional project management certificate from Project Management Institute (PMI) or similar issuing agency including Certified Agile Professional (CAP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Scaled Agile Framework Agilist (SAFe Agilist), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
The IT Solutions Project Manager’s job responsibilities include: - Management of multiple projects with tools that produce project timelines and plans, issues and risks registers, requirements matrices, Gannt charts, weekly status reports, and budgets for financial reporting.
- Coordination and facilitation of technical resources across the IT Solutions department and customer departments to achieve the implementation of hardware and software applications that span across networking, cloud-based systems, audio-visual systems, cyber security, and any third-party applications.
- Collaborates with IT and business unit leaders; reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame and funding limitations; and manages internal and external resources.
- Management of project budgets via monitoring and controlling of purchase orders, invoicing against executed contracts.
- Business Analyst skills that include eliciting and documenting requirements, process mapping, and creating infographic charts on project success
- Manage vendor relationships, escalate project issues to management, and monitor and control project tasks and deliverables.

Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
