An Event Attendant sets up and removes equipment and furniture used for large-scale City of Los Angeles events held at locations, such as department buildings, convention centers, libraries, and other public recreational areas; and performs incidental cleaning and service work of related event facilities.
REQUIREMENT(S)/MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)Current employment with the City of Los Angeles
and One year of full-time paid experience in setting up and removing furniture, equipment or displays for major events such as trade and consumer shows, conventions and banquets.

However, they cannot be appointed until the full experience requirement is met.Part-time experience will be credited only in the proportion that the hours worked equate to a normal full-time workweek.The positions of Event Attendant in the General Services Department (GSD) require a valid Class C driver’s license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of appointment. Candidates will not be eligible for appointment to these positions if their DMV record within the last 36 months reflects three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents, or a conviction of a major moving violation such as DUI.

MARCH 24, 2025 to APRIL 4, 2025. NOTES : This examination is based on a validation study.Candidates must be in good physical condition, and able to engage in certain types of work involving stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting objects up to 70 pounds. In addition, candidates will also engage in performing clean-up activities such as emptying and/or cleaning floors, trash receptacles, ashtrays, and restrooms.
