Minimum Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Business, Public Administration, Museum Studies, or a related field
- Four years of operations planning and management;
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License
Position Overview Under the direction of the Director, manages the daily operations of the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum.
Position Responsibilities - Manages museum functions and operations, including staff work schedules, maintenance, museum collection, museum store, special events, budgets, purchasing.
- Contributes to the development and monitoring of the annual budget and strategic plans for the department, including cost control measures and planning of future improvements.
- Hires, manages, and trains assigned staff; plans and manages work activities; plans, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; monitors work, develops staff skills and evaluates performance.
- Oversees the use of temporary labor as needed.
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifies excellent customer service and creates a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
- Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations; assign work activities, projects and programs; monitor work flow and reporting relationships; inspect work product of subordinates to ensure accuracy and timeliness of completion; meet with staff to review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; identify and resolve challenges.
- Serves as facility contact and ensures compliance with agreements.
- Maintains new and existing inventory and replacement schedule.
- Ensures proper handling, storage, and preservation of museum artifacts and archival collections.
- Coordinates the installation, de-installation, and rotation of exhibits.
- Coordinates special events, programs, and educational activities.
- Develops safety standards and periodically reviews facility emergency response plan.
- Researches, reviews, recommends, and implements contractual and vendor services for the museum.
- Ensures facility compliance with all applicable policies, laws, codes, regulations, ordinance, and directives.
- May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wi de emergency.
