Essential Job Functions WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Performs routine and disinfecting/deep cleaning of offices, restrooms, corridors, stairways, storerooms, exam rooms and other assigned areas.
Cleans hard and soft surface floors using brooms, dry and wet mops, and vacuum cleaners.
Removes spots and stains on carpet surfaces using removal cleaning agents.
Dusts, wipes, and polishes furniture, furnishings, and fixtures.
Cleans horizontal and vertical light fixtures.
Cleans windows, partition and door glass, mirrors, and other surfaces using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, towels, and squeegees; works on ladders as needed.
Washes and spot cleans walls using soapy water or other cleaners, works on ladders as needed.
Cleans and sanitizes restrooms (including toilets and urinals and replacing cartridges in waterless urinals), offices, corridors, kitchens, stairwells, and replenishes supplies routinely.
Cleans and maintains all custodial closets and storage rooms where custodial carts, supplies, and equipment are kept.
Empties waste receptacles and replaces plastic liners; removes contaminated trash.
Wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when needed.
Reports building conditions requiring repair or maintenance. Examples include burned-out light bulbs, leaking faucets and valves, clogged restroom fixtures and drains, inoperable doors, locks, and latches.
Maintains work records.
Requirements WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: No training or experience is required.
LICENSE:A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
PHYSICAL CLASS:3 - Moderate. This class requires that the incumbent stand or walk most of the time with bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, reaching, working on irregular surfaces, occasional lifting of objects weighing over 25 pounds, and frequent lifting of 10-25 pounds.

Although there are no requirements to qualify for this job, you
MUST be willing and able to perform job-related tasks, included in the Willingness Questionnaire (questions 4-5), to proceed with the following exam process:
A Training & Experience (T&E) evaluation, weighted 100%, measuring:
- Experience working as a custodian, janitor, or cleaning staff.
Only applicants who achieve a passing score of 70% or higher on the T&E will be placed on the eligible list.
Eligibility Information: The names of candidates receiving a passing score in the assessment will be placed on the Eligible List in the order of their score group for a period of twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation. Passing this examination and being placed on the Eligible List does not guarantee an offer of employment.
Special Information: Shift - 5/40 work schedule. Appointees will be required to work from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. and/or nights, weekends, holidays, overtime, and call back.
