Starting Pay: The salary is $24.00 per hour up to 37.5-hour workweek

The Trial Court Human Resources Labor Relations Department works with unions, employees, judges, clerks and managers insure that work regulations are equally enforced and that the balance between management rights and employee rights and obligations is appropriately maintained and to ensure a productive, safe and harmonious workplace.

Position Summary:

Working within the Labor Relations Team of the Human Resources Department of the Office of Court Management, we are seeking a personable and highly motivated individual that wants actual hands-on experience. The intern, under the supervision and guidance of the Director of Labor Relations, will work on a variety of day-to-day tasks that will involve administrative support and preparation for development and amendment of policies impacting employees. The intern’s daily duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:


Minimum Requirements:

• Working towards a Juris Doctor degree;

• 2L or 3L with prior legal or labor/employment/hr experience preferred;

• Excellent writing, communication, and legal research skills;

• Ability to produce high quality work product while meeting deadlines;

• Knowledge of and ability to use computer software such as MS Office, including Excel and search engines such as LexisNexis and Westlaw;

• Ability to analyze legal issues and identify relevant case opinions and administrative decisions;

• Ability to prepare legal memoranda and other documents;

• Ability to work independently and to establish work priorities;

• Ability to deal effectively with justices and other court officials;

• Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
