Job Announcement

The City of Chandler Community Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals in joining our team as a Recreation Assistant or Recreation Aidefor Adaptive Recreation Camp Challenge. These positions serve at the discretion of the department director and are temporary, part-time, and non-benefited with work opportunities during summer at Camp Challenge. Position will depend on experience.

Recreation
The Recreation Division champions everyday experiences that encourage the community to discover, imagine, and grow. The City of Chandler Adaptive Recreation Division offers programs for individuals with disabilities. We engage participants in sports, classes, community outings, music, art, social opportunities, and more.

Who we are looking for
Our team members will have a passion for teamwork, inclusivity, collaboration, and instructing individuals with disabilities. We are seeking Recreation Assistants and Aides who will plan, create, and lead activities during our summer program, Camp Challenge. Ideal applicants will be energetic, patient, creative, and can apply independent judgment during programs. Our employees must demonstrate excellent customer service and be able to communicate effectively with our adaptive participants, parents, care providers, co-workers, and supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Some High School; no experience required; and
• A First Aid/CPR Certification, depending on assignment; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Recreation Assistant ($21.14 per hour) To view complete job description click here
Minimum Qualifications

• Some High School; and
• 1 year of experience in a recreation environment; and
• A First Aid/CPR Certification, depending on assignment; and
• A valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Desired qualifications
• 1 year of experience working with youth, teens, or adults with disabilities

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and a driving record check as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results. All applicants hired will be required to be fingerprinted with successful results as a condition of continued employment.
