The City of Fort Worth - Financial Management Services Department, is seeking to fill a Senior Accountant position for Capital Assets within the Accounting Division. This is an advanced level position requiring a high level of responsibility and a successful candidate must be able to work independently, and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision and minimal guidance.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
Preferred Qualifications: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials.
- Active involvement in the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
- Certification as a Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO).
The Sr. Accountant Job Responsibilities Include: - Conducting advanced financial analysis
- Overseeing accounting for construction work-in-progress (CWIP)
- Reconciling capital projects
- Supervising general ledger accounts
- Reviewing, approving, and recording journal entries for capital projects
- Managing month-end and year-end closing processes
- Coordinating the City’s annual physical inventory
- Assisting with independent financial and single audits
- Providing support to internal and external stakeholders on accounting matters
- Handling additional task as assigned
