A Digital Communications Specialist position is available with the City of Fort Worth Library Communications. The Fort Worth Public Library is seeking a creative communications professional adept in content creation for social media, advertising, marketing and public relations projects. This individual should also have a desire to work in website and online community management. An individual with a passion for the impact of visual storytelling, who loves brainstorming and has a depth of understanding for the importance of reputation management, will thrive in this role.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism communications, public relations, public affairs, or related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain an appropriate, valid Texas driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: - Highly skilled in conceptualizing ideas
- Experience with website content management systems and webpage maintenance
- Ability to assert their own ideas and take constructive criticism and direction
- Adept at writing concisely and accurately for various audiences
- Experience with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Content Management Systems
The Digital Communications Specialist job responsibilities include: - Creates meaningful content through conceptualizing, writing and editing that can tell stories in formats appropriate for various channels (broadcast, social, advertising etc.)
- Coordinates and develops social media content that aligns to library programming, promotional objectives, campaigns and other city-wide initiatives
- Oversees the production and editing of high-quality content, social media presence and website
- Evaluate effectiveness of communications efforts regularly and develop recommendations for continuous improvement
- Regularly attend assigned events and programs developed by the Fort Worth Public Library
- Collaborates closely with Sr. Graphic Designer and other communications staff to support library and city branding
- Manage production timelines and deliver on deadlines
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.
Physical Demand Sedentary work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasional and all other sedentary criteria are met.
