The Job

San Bernardino County is recruiting for Supervising Program Specialists to oversee staff engaged in the following: administrative and operational program development activities and analysis; recommendation and development of scope of work for contracts and Memorandum of Understanding; and recommendation and development of policies/procedures and knowledge asset/tools for agency/department programs. Supervising Program Specialists also facilitate/conduct project management for agency department initiatives that are the most complex and impact multiple departments, and for efficiency measures, contract compliance and technology upgrades.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

Travel: Travel throughout the County and State may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for local transportation; travel throughout the State will be at the provision of the employer.

Minimum Requirements

CANDIDATES MUST MEET BOTH THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION:
An Associate's degree or equivalent completed college coursework (defined as completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an institution accredited by the U.S. Department of Education) in behavioral/social science, business/public/health care administration, liberal arts or education.



-AND-

EXPERIENCE: Applicant must meet ONE of the following options:
OPTION 1 One (1) year of experience equivalent to a Program Specialist II or two (2) years experience equivalent to a Program Specialist I in San Bernardino County. Equivalent experience includes primary responsibility for the following duties: project management, program monitoring/evaluation and implementation, and training on legislative/regulatory changes for a social services agency. OPTION 2 Two (2) years of second-level supervisory experience in a public service program. OPTION 3 Two (2) years of recent full-time professional level experience in the public sector with primary responsibility for performing duties in all aspects of administrative and operational program/project development activities, including analysis, recommendations, and development of scopes of work, policies and procedures and knowledge assets/tools for agency/department programs
