Job Summary

Under the general direction of the University Open Computer Lab Coordinator, the Sr. University Open Computer Lab Technician provides consultative support and services to students and oversees the usage and maintenance of computers, printers, and equipment within assigned areas. Additionally, the Sr. University Open Computer Lab Technician supports the supervision of student assistants within the University Horn Center Computer Lab and assists the University Open Computer Lab Coordinator.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Ability to approach tasks and responsibilities collaboratively to work within the core values of Academic Technology Services. The ability to use with both Windows and Apple OS systems preferred. Ability to take initiative and organize, coordinate, and work in a high-paced office with accurate results. Ability to work cooperatively with all faculty, staff and students to ensure processes are completed accurately and efficiently. Strong attention to detail. Ability to monitor and review information and identify discrepancies. Experience in tracking and organizing information. Thorough knowledge of office methods, procedures, and practices.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Compensation

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,864 - $4,900 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.

CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,864 - $6,072 per month.

Time Base

1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.

Duration of Appointment

This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
