ABOUT THE POSITION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the WRD Pretreatment Technician (Interceptor Inspections) position. This position will be primarily responsible for:

This recruitment will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level course work in chemistry, biology or a related field and one (1) year of full-time experience in wastewater treatment, collection, operations, laboratory field sampling, or environmental inspections or related regulatory field. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.

Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Do not substitute a resume for your application or write "see attached resume" on your application.

Working Conditions: Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations. Work with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and substances. May work underground and/or in confined spaces. Climbing, lifting, pulling, and carrying required in outdoor environments and possibly on uneven surfaces. Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nevada Water Environment Association (NWEA) Industrial Waste Inspector Grade I Certification, within one year from date of hire.
Some positions may require confined space entry certification.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
