The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation is recruiting for seasonal positions to work with our 2025 Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Programs. We are looking for self-motivated Site Supervisors who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while encouraging kids to be confident, creative, and make new friends. This is a unique opportunity to work with our at-risk youth and inspire them to reach their full potential. The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp is located at 4 schools in the Fort Worth area.
- Attendance is required at orientation, which is June 2 -6
- The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Program operates from June 9 through July 25 and is offered between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Candidate must be comfortable and willing to get into the water for any aquatic-related activities and field trips.
- The positions will work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week (Seasonal Position with no benefits).
This Position qualifies for the following incentives which are separate from the base pay: - Completion of Assignment Pay . You can earn up to a $300 incentive pay, which is based on the amount of days worked while on assignment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience leading children’s activities for youth ages 5 - 12 in a recreational OR educational environment
- Minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications - 4-year college degree
- 1 year of supervisory experience
The Site Supervisor’s job responsibilities include: - Supervise children during a variety of summer day camp activities, including recreational, cultural, and educational programs, indoor and outdoor events, aquatic activities, arts and crafts, and sports.
- Maintain equipment inventory, materials, and supplies.
- Oversee and implement marketing to promote programs and recruit students.
- Coordinate and or collaborate with the school to promote parent workshops and family events.
- Develop weekly lesson plans that integrate subjects such as science, math, reading, recreational games, arts and crafts, and college and career readiness activities
- Evaluate seasonal employees at the end of the summer.
- Adhere to assigned work schedules as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensure all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
Working Conditions: Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting
Physical Demands: Sedentary Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
