This position is with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, and will be located at Knob Noster State Park, 873 SE 10 Road, Knob Noster, MO 65336 . This position typically works Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. Shifts may vary occasionally with the time of year and to meet the needs of the facility. This position will require working regularly rotating weekends, and working nights, holidays, and special events as necessary. (On-site Housing is available.)

• This position is responsible for the administrative and supervisory oversight of Knob Noster State Park as well as the 61 ‑mile west section of Katy Trail State Park and 47.5 miles of the west section of the Rock Island Trail ; including oversight of daily operations, trails, campground, day use areas, park office, budgeting, directing maintenance priorities, meeting operational standards, staff work schedules, and direct supervision.

• Must be able to exercise a high degree of initiative and independent judgement in planning and implementing the work.

• Supervise permanent, seasonal, temporary, and volunteer employees at Knob Noster State Park and Katy Trail State Park in the protection, maintenance, operation, and repair of state parks/historic sites, natural and cultural resources, facilities, equipment, and systems. Skill in managing and collaborating with staff. This includes meeting with Katy Trail maintenance staff once per week at 6 a.m.

• Greets the public and discusses the facility’s resources, rules, and regulations relating to the state park and state historic site system.

• Develop, schedule, and participate in special events, interpretive programs, and informational public meetings.

• Establish a functional, proactive, working relationship with the media, local governments, local constituency groups and other stake holders.

• Research, collect, organizes, draft data for fiscal, statistical, and operational reports.

• Assists in implementing state park or historic site development projects, which include expansions, new construction, renovations, and maintenance.

• Respond to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, personal injuries, disturbances, natural disasters, and any other significant events within the park.

• Position must be available to work on weekends, holidays, and evenings, in order to respond to incidents and to visitors’ needs at the park (which is open year-round).

• Required to work at least two weekends per month (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun) during the “On-Season” which is April 16 - October 31.

Must be able to work well with little direct supervision.

$60,238-$64,668 per Year
