Job Summary Operates a heavy motorized collection vehicle for the transport of dewatered sludge for disposal and assists in the operation of a wastewater treatment system for the City of Bryan. Essential Job Functions
Operates and maintains roll-off vehicle, dump truck, and backhoe to transport processed sludge for disposal.
Enters and exits the truck multiple times throughout the day to secure loads and check equipment.
Assists in sludge processing through operation of belt press and grease plant.
Assists in general duties associated with maintenance and operation of wastewater treatment plant.
Performs related duties as required.
Responds regularly and promptly to work.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED .
At least three (3) years of work experience, preferably involving driving a large vehicle and/or heavy equipment.
Equivalent combinations of education, experience, certification, and training may be considered.
Licenses, Certifications & Special Requirements
Texas Class B commercial driver’s license with a good driving record as measured by the City’s evaluation system.
Must obtain Wastewater Class D Operator License and Wastewater Class C License within the time frame set by the department.
Must successfully pass an annual pulmonary function test and respirator fit test to determine ability to function while wearing a self-contained breathing apparatus ( SCBA ) during emergency operations.
