Role Description This position aids with maintaining continuous Medicaid benefits for Waivered individuals. Figures wage assessments for individuals (at least twice per year). Complete Notice of Cost per Standard Means rate for Room and Board Services. Complete updated forms and documentation per Social Security request to continue benefits as needed for individuals that the Regional Office is still serving as Representative Payee.
What you’ll do - Communicates with parents or guardians and oversees completion of Standard Means on an annual basis or more often as appropriate and in accordance with DMH Reimbursement Manual for active consumers.
- Calculate and apply the Standard Means Test in accordance with Missouri Law (9 CSR 10-31.0111). Complete and send Notice of Cost within 30 days of receipt of a completed financial questionnaire. A completed financial questionnaire is completed annually.
- Verify parent information through Employment Security file and client information through the workshop report, etc on an as needed basis only. Follow up on financial questionnaires not returned. Maintain log of information.
- Serve as liaison with the Social Security Administration, etc. Apply for benefits for all placement consumers.
- Aid with annual re-determinations of SSI, SSA, VA, and Medicaid.
- Calculate average monthly wage and apply Standard Means Test and give notice of changes to Accounts Assistants for CIMOR SCL statements as needed.
- Maintain a current and up-to-date database of all active clients. Delete clients when discharged. Maintain by name, client number social security number, birth date, admission date and all other pertinent financial information.
- Give notice to proper personnel of under or overpayment when necessary. Review client funds to ensure the clients eligibility of benefits.
- Process decedent accounts and estates within a timely manner and according to guidelines.
- Conduct Staff trainings as requested.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as needed.
- Attend and pass annual refresher classes provided through MOVERS Learn.
- Other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications 3 years of experience with Medicaid and/or Social Security programs and basic research or a bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration Accounting. Strong communication skills required.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of accounting procedures and office methods and practices. Ability to meet deadlines. Capable of reviewing financial documents for accuracy with attention to detail. Independent worker with strong time management skills. Knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions and basic math calculations. Ability to identify and escalate items outside of the norm. Adherence to internal as well as Federal guidelines and regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally .
