What You'll Be Doing

Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space seeks a Park Technician of Operations and Maintenance for Lake Crabtree County Park. We’re looking for someone with experience or interest in equipment maintenance, land management, interpersonal communication and public relations to join our growing team. Flexibility will be key to the successful candidate as job tasks shift day-by-day and occasionally hour-by-hour.

Lake Crabtree offers our community highly sought-after services such as outdoor recreation, cultural history, environmental education and nature viewing. As a member of our team, you’ll assist in delivering these services while regularly interacting with our community and supporting daily operations and maintenance of our facilities.

The Parks, Recreation and Open Space Division (we like to call ourselves PROS) is a talented team devoted to ensuring our parks are accessible and welcoming. We offer preservation, education and recreation opportunities across our nine parks and three nature preserves (and GROWING!) 361 days a year. Lake Crabtree is Wake County’s first park (opening in 1988), and the park’s convenient location, amenities and programs create high demand as our most-visited park. Our parks have never been more popular! We serve nearly 2 million visitors annually and plan to open additional facilities in the future. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week including mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Hiring Range: 22.13 - 28.73

Market Range: 22.13 - 28.73

Emergency Service Worker Statement
