We are seeking a qualified individual that has experience in data analysis and statistics, and data dissemination. This position plays an important role in public health, presenting findings to varied audiences and working with data visualization for on-line tools. This is a highly responsible position requiring data management, statistical and analytical skills. They will serve an integral role for data dissemination through the Departments's web-based data query system, reports, newsletters, and fact sheets. They will also manage and oversee Strategy 3 of the Overdose Data to Action (OD2A) grant which involves the linkage of death certificate information with medical examiner reports for drug overdose deaths and abstraction of this data into CDC's State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS). This position will also oversee the maintenance and updates of Missouri’s Drug Overdose Dashboards and Missouri’s SUDORS Dashboard. The position will appeal to individuals who like to work with numbers and are interested in trying to find innovative ways to share data with public health stakeholders.

• Work with the Bureau's OD2A team to write annual performance measures, address monthly quality assurance reports and attend regular calls and meetings with other OD2A DHSS staff and CDC project officers.
• Communicate with Medical Examiners/Coroners (ME/Cs) in order to receive reports for overdose-related deaths, develop and maintain contracts with ME/Cs and track invoices.
• Conduct analysis related to drug overdose surveillance including linkage of multiple datasets and then conducting analysis and developing reports based on the findings.
• Maintain and update Missouri's Drug Overdose Dashboards and Missouri's SUDORS dashboard.
• Write and edit reports on various public health topics.
• Develop, coordinate and provide presentations and trainings on the use of the web-based tools to Department staff, local public health agencies, other agencies and interested members of the general public.
• Develop additional data-themed presentations for state and national conferences. Examples of topics for presentation include rural health, minority health, drug overdose and maternal/child health.
• Supervise at least 1 research analyst position.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree. Transcripts are required.
• At least four years of experience with data and analysis. Advanced education may be used as a substitute in applicable situations.
• Experience with spreadsheets and word processing programs such as Excel and Word as well as other PC desktop resources.
• Experience with SAS or other statistical software and general programming techniques is highly desirable but not required.
• Interest in data presentation and data visualization software is helpful.
• Highly organized and detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Salary:

64,000-68,000 per Year
