seeking a Business Process Analyst II to join the team in our Field Operations Division - the largest and most dynamic division in the department. Field Operations is a 24/7 operation responsible for maintaining and supporting Fort Worth’s vital water infrastructure. This position plays a key role in advancing our mission by using data and business intelligence tools to improve operational efficiency, support asset reliability, and ensure top-tier service for our residents.
As a Business Process Analyst II, you will act as a technical liaison between Field Operations and internal IT systems, including Maximo, GIS, SCADA, and business intelligence tools such as Looker. In this highly collaborative role, you will be responsible for analyzing and validating data across multiple platforms, creating custom dashboards and reports, and recommending process enhancements that support data-driven decision-making. Your work will directly contribute to the reliability and optimization of our operations. You will coordinate closely with the Water IT team, serving on core groups for Maximo and Looker, where you'll test system configurations, troubleshoot issues, provide end-user support, and identify opportunities to streamline business processes. Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
- Four (4) years of professional experience in business analysis, including the ability to analyze, interpret, and report data from enterprise software systems such as Maximo, GIS, Looker, or SCADA
- Valid Texas driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications: - Two or more years of supervisory experience
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in water or wastewater utility operations (construction, maintenance, repair, or system operations)
- Possession of a TCEQ Water Class C License
- Experience reading and interpreting construction and utility plans
- Proficiency in Business Process Mapping tools and methodologies
Business Process Analyst II responsibilities include: - Analyze, interpret, and visualize data using business intelligence software (e.g., Looker); create dashboards and reports to support operations and management
- Perform data mining across multiple platforms (Maximo, GIS, Looker, SCADA) to identify trends, improve processes, and ensure data accuracy
- Conduct both simple and complex data analysis to optimize the use of internal systems and workflows
- Validate and maintain data integrity across various systems; ensure high-quality, accurate data for reporting and regulatory compliance
- Translate business needs into system and process requirements; work with IT teams and end-users to test and troubleshoot configurations
- Provide technical support and user training on Maximo, GIS, Looker, and related systems
- Serve as a key member of the Maximo and Looker core teams, actively participating in configuration testing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Recommend process enhancements that improve efficiency, accuracy, and user experience
- Liaise with internal departments and external vendors to support implementation and upgrades of business applications
- Assist with documentation, workflow design, and basic SQL or database queries as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the department
