- Experience may substitute for education for up to 4 years.
- Master’s Degree in a related field may substitute for two (2) years of experience.

Critical Employee:
- This position has been designated as critical for the City of Austin. Critical positions are necessary and vital and support activities that impact City or department operations. Work can be done while at a designated work site or while working at an alternate work location. Critical employees may be reassigned to another area to provide essential services to support any extraordinary situations or emergency conditions.

Travel:

Driver Safety Program , you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Pay Range
$37.63 - $47.98
Hours
Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility of hours.
Hybrid telework may be available

- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of both IT staff and business staff to establish and meet project goals
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution between business needs and technical capabilities
- Experience using and developing a project management platform such as Wrike
- Experience with project intake analysis and strategic alignment
- Experience with development of standard project management artifacts such as business cases and project charters
- Experience managing enterprise-wide technology projects spanning multiple customers and systems common to utilities such as GIS , asset management, systems integration, work order management, financial management, document management, etc.
- Experience using Agile and other common IT Project Management methodologies
- Current Project Management Professional ( PMP ) certification, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Directs and manages information technology project development from beginning to end, submit proposals, and recommend subsequent budget, scope and schedule changes and/or contingency plans where necessary. Develops project scope, cost estimates, human resource requirements, work plans, time schedules, communication plans, and makes work assignments to meet project or program objectives. Writes Request For Proposals for external services and manage contracts and vendor performance, deliverables, and payments. Develops information technology project plans and associated communications documents, identify and manage project dependencies and critical path, and track and report on project milestones and deliverables. Develops written business requirements and models. Participates in discussions of project management department goals and objectives with IT senior management, system owners and decision makers. Requests the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals and where required, from other department managers and participate in the acquisition of required personnel within the City of Austin. Defines the project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout the project life cycle. Effectively communicates project expectations to sponsor, team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, and facilitate project management and project status review meetings. Develops successful transition, training plans and recognition for resources on the project team.
