Description
Job Location: This position will be located at 920 Wildwood Dr., Jefferson City, MO 65109.
Why you’ll love this position:The Section for Patient and Application Services Deputy Director is an executive level leadership position within DHSS' Division of Cannabis Regulation, which was established to implement access to and regulation of medical and non-medical cannabis in Missouri. In collaboration with the Section Director, the Deputy will oversee unit supervisors and the development and administration of the section. This is an exciting and rare opportunity to be at the forefront of building a new state program. - Supports the section director, as well as, assume lead responsibilities in the absence of the Section Director. Acts as a liaison between the director and section staff, which consists of 23 professional and support level staff.
- Directly supervises the Facility Application Services Unit Manager, Individual Licensing Unit Coordinators, and Section Development Unit Supervisor.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the section; including rule interpretation, document review and approval, policy analysis and advice, personnel oversight, and project management, all with an emphasis on fostering a positive and collaborative working environment in a way that ensures consistency throughout the section.
- Regularly coordinates and communicates within all levels of the organization.
- Monitors and analyzes multifaceted program data; recommends budgetary needs for program development based on data-driven findings.
- Oversee and assist in developing Section wide processes and procedures, ensure timely outcomes of Section projects and ensure completeness and accuracy of Section work.
- Cooperate with other agencies, law enforcement entities, the Office of the Attorney General, prosecuting attorneys’ offices and Administrative Hearing Commission in directing investigations and presenting cases.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree and 4-6 years or relevant expierience. (Subsitutions allowed.)
- 2-4 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
- Ability to manage change, provide program management, and achieve results.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate with the public and other partners.
- Demonstrated ability to manage professional staff and resources.
- Experience in creating programs or initiatives for public or private entities.
